The Kind of Mother I Am

A good mother would've seen this coming.

A caring mother would've stopped it before it started.

A concerned mother might've been horrified about the nasty germs her baby was picking up.

A conscientious mother might've worried what kind of damage this would do to her daughter's brand new teeth.

A disciplined mother would've discouraged this at all cost.

And a loving mother would make sure no one would've ever found out.

So I wonder what kind of Mom I am, since all I did was grab my camera and take tons of pictures.

Incidentally, whatever kind of mother I may be, I've been that way for a while.

At least I'm consistent. :-)

  1. just figure that the more germs she picks up now, the fewer "new" ones there will be when she starts school!

  2. You're the best kind of mom. The kind who knows that a few germs aren't the end of the world. The kind who delights in her children. The kind who is proud of her children's accomplishments and wants to share them with the world. The kind who doesn't sweat the small stuff. The kind who soaks up every bit of life she can so that her children get the very best she has to offer them. Yep, I'd say you're doing a pretty good job. =) Love you!

  3. That's hilarious! I used to cringe when Jackson would do that but then I got over it really quickly. You learn that it's about impossible to keep them away from the germs so you just give up. The IMPORTANT thing is that she looks stinking precious in that dress and bow. Who cares about the germs, right! :-)

  4. You're a wonderful mom, germs and all! haha. I have to say I feel like since I've become a mom I have become so much more aware of germs and I will admit, have become a bit of a germaphobe. I am constantly wiping our hands with Wet Ones and antibacterial gel. If there is a germ in the air, Luke's gonna catch it and be sick for at least 2 weeks. Such a pain! Jacob mouthed the shopping cart at Wal-Mart (of all places) when he was about Kaitlynn's age and I about freaked. Of course there was a rust spot right where he was licking! I need to take a lesson from you and relax a little I think! And I love that you have the same picture of Connor, too funny! Consistency is good! :)

  5. Lauri, I second every thing Amanda said!!! I can't believe you had a picture of Conner in the same situation BEFORE blogging (I think)!!! LOL! It seems blogging makes everything a photo opportunity! I love that you have the same picture of them!!

I've always believed that taking in a few germs along the way is like training for a marathon! Gets you in shape for the big ones! =)

  6. Are you sure you aren't a Records Manager? I swear you have more documented pictures and "records" than anyone I know! It's like you just pull something out of your "file" and use it at just the right time! You amaze me. :-) With all of that said, this post me me laugh so hard I almost pee'd myself. Hilarious. It has to be my favorite post yet! Keep up the good work. I support you in your not so germ conscious efforts. I am right there with you!
