Grandparents Visit #3

To wrap up the Fall 2017 Tour of the Grandparents (haha), my mom and dad visited us in late October. They drove down one weekend to, what else, see Connor play football and watch Kaitlynn do some tumbling.

I didn't manage to take many pictures from our adventures, but what I did capture was lots of indoor fun and games. It's no secret that Grandaddy LOVES playing games, and Connor and Kaitlynn are always easy targets to join him. On this trip, Grandaddy brought a new game with him called Uno Attack. We didn't understand why it wasn't working until we realized it WAS working -- it spits out cards at you and you never know who the next victim will be!

More Uno Attack. Lots of laughs with this game.

Uh-oh, is it broken?

Nope, it's working as expected and making victims of us all, ha!

We couldn't believe our luck, to have had visits from all 3 sets of grandparents in a 6-week period of time. We're so blessed by our parents and love every second we get to spend our lives with them!

Grandparents Visit #2

Next up on the grandparents visitation list (haha) was Jeff's mom Judy and stepdad Dave. They joined us during another busy fall weekend in order to take in some football and tumbling, and the kids loved sharing a weekend in their lives with Nana and Grandpa!

Kaitlynn's favorite activity with Nana is playing dolls!

She just loved showing and telling Nana all about her dolls and their accessories.

Even Connor had to get in on the action.

It was a beautiful October weekend when Nana and Grandpa visited, and Grandpa Dave took the opportunity to teach the kids how to carve pumpkins for the very first time. It's true that grandparents are WAY more fun than parents, ha!

All smiles for carving pumpkins.

They were a little unsure of the mess.

The final products -- perfectly spooky pumpkins!

The final touch was the candles on the inside. Loved our carved pumpkins for Halloween!

No fall weekend would be complete without a visit to the little league football fields to watch Connor and his Falcons team play. Nana and Grandpa enjoyed seeing their favorite little Falcon on what turned out to be a gorgeous day for football.

Group pic of the gang at Connor's football game.

We all couldn't believe how tall Kevin looked in these photos, ha!

Jeff with his Mom, so sweet.

The rest of the weekend was just as fun. We went to a lovely church service, followed by a wonderful "girls day" of shopping and lunch. Kaitlynn couldn't wait to introduce Nana to the joys of the American Girl store, ha! Jeff and Dave packed in more fun with a sunset canoe ride around the lake, and we concluded our weekend with the BEST beef fajitas in town (Lupe Tortilla, in case you were wondering)! We felt so lucky to have Nana and Grandpa for a visit and enjoyed the entire time so much!

Nana spoiled Kaitlynn with an extra gift from her favorite store.

Jeff and Dave took a sunset canoe ride in the lake behind our house. We were impressed that they didn't fall in!!

Grandparents Visit #1

Last fall, we were beyond blessed to have a special visit from all THREE sets of Connor and Kaitlynn's grandparents! We couldn't wait to host our parents and let them experience a weekend in our busy lives.

First up was Jeff's dad, Jerry, and stepmom Cheryl. It was their first visit to see us in Katy and we LOVED sharing our lives here with them. They were able to step right into our busy schedules, including football practice and tumbling classes. They even came up to the elementary school to visit the kids at lunch time. Such a treat for Connor and Kaitlynn to show their grandparents around and have them here for a fun-filled long weekend!

Watching the evening Falcons football practice.

Cheering Kaitlynn on at her weekly tumbling class. Even Kevin was able to make it!

Joining Kaitlynn at school for lunch.

She felt so special to have her grandparents visit!

Love this picture of Connor joining us for lunch. He only wanted to hang with us for a few minutes so that he could return to the kids' table with his friends.

Kaitlynn and Grandpa Jerry.

Kaitlynn loved the attention from her grandparents.

Jerry and Cheryl picked a CRAZY weekend to join us -- right in the middle of football season. Connor just so happened to have 2 football games scheduled for the weekend that they were here, so there was lots of action and running around on the weekend. On the day of the games, we were experiencing record heat in the area which made for miserable spectator conditions. The grandparents were major troopers, taking it all in without a single complaint. We later commented on how great they were holding up despite the weather and hectic schedule. It was clear that Connor and Kaitlynn were lucky to have such "hearty" grandparents!

Love this photo of Jeff with his dad and Cheryl.

Enjoying an evening swim to cool off after a scorcher of a day!

To add to our already crazy weekend, Jeff and I were so excited to be able to bring Jerry and Cheryl along with us to Sunday's Houston Texans game. It was their first NFL game and they picked a great one! There's just nothing like the energy and excitement of the fan experience at these games, and we felt so lucky to be able to share it with family.

They were so cute watching all of the pre-game activities. Such excitement!

Kaitlynn's 2nd grade performance

You may remember when Kaitlynn performed her choir solo in front of the entire 1st grade class and their families last year at her 1st grade musical performance. This year, Kaitlynn's 2nd grade classmates put on a dance performance, and it was a night full of fun for the students and parents alike! Kaitlynn was front and center during the performance and loved every second!

Big smile for her school WCE.

Lined up in the hallway on the way to the gym. Love her teacher, Mrs. Ohmart!

Sweet friends.

Love this girl and her fun school events.
