2 Months!

Kaitlynn turned 2 months today! Wow, crazy how time flies. Some days I find myself wishing it would just slow down. (Except when I remember that Connor was sleeping 12 hours at night by 3 months...).

Here is what's going on with baby girl these days:
  • She is getting SO strong! She holds her head up easily, and she is really starting to put weight on her legs when you hold her up.
  • Sometimes when she smiles she lifts her little chin up with a sweet coo, almost like she is on the verge of a laugh.
  • She is making SO many noises like she's trying to talk to us. It is so sweet! I keep meaning to get a video.
  • She is really imitating faces like sticking out her tongue or forming an "o" with her mouth. It is really fun to watch.
  • She is turning into a very pleasant baby. With the exception of an occasional gassy tummy, she will sit in her swing or lay on the floor and entertain herself for a long time.
  • While she is lying flat, she will now kick and squirm so much that she can turn herself 90 degrees counter-clockwise. And for some reason, it's always counter-clockwise and never the opposite!
  • Her sleeping habits are still a bit inconsistent, but at home she is asleep by 9 pm and will wake for a feeding around 3 am. Then she'll be up again in exactly 3 hours for the next one. She is still sleeping in her pack-and-play in our living room, right around the corner from our bedroom. (This week we are in Florida on vacation so we're all completely off schedule!)
  • She is growing so fast! She can already wear size 3 diapers, and we've also had to adjust her carseat to a higher setting to accommodate her longer length. We'll know her official stats next week when we visit the doctor for her 2-month checkup.
  • Her blocked tear duct in her left eye seems to be clearing up finally. Of course, as soon as I say that it may reappear.
  • She has developed a tiny bit of cradle cap (dry flaky skin on her scalp).
  • Her herniated belly button is still huge! It sticks out just as much if not more than Connor's did. I can't remember but I think his went away by 3 months or so.
  • She occasionally has what we call a "power puke" where she'll spit up practically an entire feeding all over the place. It's more of a projectile vomit versus a spit-up. And usually she reserves these pukes for dear ole' Dad.

2 months old today! This was a great shot except for being overexposed.

Quick little video before my batteries died.
