Our 2017 Spring Break in Colorado

Spring Break 2017 is going to go down as one of our favorites ever! Thanks to our amazing family friends, the Arnolds, we were invited to spend the week in beautiful Fraser, Colorado in the Arnold family home in the mountains. We decided to drive there and couldn't wait for the adventure! The road trip is half the fun, right?

Bob and Valerie's winter cabin is simply gorgeous. Tucked away in the mountains, you're always on the lookout for wildlife, and the winter weather always makes for the best outdoor playground! And of course I always love the cold weather snuggles in front of the fire every evening.

On our first day in Colorado, we had arranged to meet the family of Kaitlynn's bestie, Anais, for a fun morning of snow tubing. They were staying at a nearby resort and we couldn't pass up the opportunity to get the girls together and have some family fun. The tubing was AMAZING! Right when we began the fun, the sky opened up and began snowing hard, which only added to the excitement for us all. We spent a couple of hours tubing and then we all headed into Winter Park for a yummy lunch of pizza. It turned out to be the BEST day, not only for the girls, but for all of us!

On our second day, the family loaded up and drove to the Winter Park ski resort which is only minutes from the Arnolds' cabin. I had signed up the kids for two days of ski lessons, and we were all excited to hit the slopes. Connor had some experience skiing a few years back, but he didn't remember much.

I was worried that one or both of them wouldn't enjoy it, but as it turns out, I had nothing to worry about! The kids both LOVED their experience skiing and were ready to venture out with Jeff and I after both days of lessons as well as another full day on our own as a family. I took so many videos and photos because I was so proud of how great they did!

We even had our photos taken at the ski resort. A fun memento of our family ski adventures!

On one of our non-skiing days, we decided to venture out a little bit and make the drive to Grand Lake. We heard it was a cute little town and we thought it would be cool to see the lake frozen over in the winter. It was cool, alright, but it scared me to death to see my family walk on that frozen water! I didn't have the guts to do it, ha!

By the end of the week, we were pooped from such amazing adventures in snowy Colorado. We aren't fans of the cold weather but the skiing and fun in the snow makes it all worth it. The kids were unanimous about wanting to go skiing again next year. Thanks so much to the Arnold family for memories we'll cherish for a lifetime!
