Intro to Softball

It took some "hyping up" from Jeff to convince Kaitlynn, but spring 2017 was Kaitlynn's official introduction to competitive softball. Once she was on board, she was excited to join a team and begin practicing with her Daddy.

First up, the gear. Jeff found some secondhand softball gear including a helmet, bat, and softball pants. Kaitlynn couldn't wait to begin hitting some balls, so they took to the front yard. It didn't take long for Kaitlynn to begin smacking those softballs pretty well!

We were thrilled to be able to join a team with several of Kaitlynn's elementary friends. Jeff signed up to be an assistant coach and they were ready to begin practicing. It was really important to look the part!

Most of Kaitlynn's team had never played softball before so we knew it would be an interesting year. The girls loved showing up for practice and began learning so much about the fundamentals of softball.

Kaitlynn enjoyed having Kevin visit one of her practices. It didn't take long for her to really get into a good form with her batting practice. It was so much fun watching her go from knowing nothing about the sport to really understanding so much about the game.
