Escaping Swine Flu

That's right, the swine flu made an unexpected (and much unwanted) visit to the Courtright household last week. Jeff started feeling typical flu symptoms on Tuesday and visited the doctor on Wednesday who diagnosed him with the H1N1 virus. Doctors these days just assume it's H1N1 because it accounts for most of the flu illnesses they are seeing, plus it's a little early for the seasonal flu. And Jeff was definitely down for the count. I think he slept for almost 48 hours straight as he got over the worst of it. But then he developed a secondary bronchial infection and was back at the doctor for an antibiotic. A full week later, he is finally on the mend and back at work. We are still praying that the rest of us avoid the flu and the other infection he has.

Connor, Kaitlynn and I were supposed to meet up with friends in East Texas last weekend but I decided we better stay away since we might be carriers of the flu. I was SO disappointed not to see Dana, Amanda and baby Alex! But of course I would've never forgiven myself if we had gotten them sick. We ended up going to stay with my parents anyway and having a very nice visit. Everyone was joking that we ran off to escape the swine flu, but we really had plans all along to be out of town! Here are some photos from our weekend.

MeMe was happy to get cuddles from baby Kaitlynn.

And then it was Grand Daddy's turn.

Connor really enjoyed his time with Grand Daddy.

They even took a nap together.
We also spent a lot of time with Aunt Robin and Cousin Karlie. Karlie loved getting cuddles from Kaitlynn.
They also gave us some good pointers on hairbows.
Kaitlynn loved trying out MeMe's exersaucer.
Showing off more hair accessories.
All the visits and accessorizing wore this girl out.Connor was pooped out, too!

  2. I'm so glad Jeff is feeling better and praying that you guys don't get it after all. I love Kaitlynn wearing all of those girlie bows! So, so cute! She looks so big and strong in the exersaucer too! I'm so glad they have so much fun with your parents. Aren't grandparents just the best?
