Trick or Treat!

It was another fun and successful Halloween at the Courtright house. The weather was just perfect for trick-or-treating, and Connor was able to join with our cul-de-sac of kids to go from house to house in search of lots of goodies.

I am working on another post that shows lots of pictures of the kids' Halloween costumes from our visit last weekend in East Texas with all of the cousins. But in the meantime, here are just a few shots from the trick-or-treating last night. Connor wore his Lightning McQueen costume (shown below from last weekend) and had so much fun with his neighborhood buddies.

Our neighborhood as usual had a TON of trick-or-treaters. I was delighted to see all the fun costumes, and most of the parents even dressed up (which made me feel like a total dud in my jeans and sweatshirt). As we made the rounds up the street, we kept running into these folks that everyone was calling the "Banana Family." Too cute!

But by far the best costume of the night was a surprise to all. It was Kevin, and his costume was... wait for it... Micheal Phelps!

Trick or treat!

Doesn't he look the part??

I had SO much fun standing to the side and watching the reaction of all of the homeowners as this tall, lanky, decked-out swimmer arrived at their door with all the other toddlers. Not to mention that the weather was pretty chilly and he was COLD!

Kevin is actually a swimmer in real life and was just having some fun by wearing his normal swim gear, but the costume was so great that he started telling everyone he was Micheal Phelps since he really looked like it. I haven't laughed so much in quite a while!

  1. I think I would have had the same reaction as the girl in the last picture if "Michael Phelps" showed up at my door! Kevin is a BRAVE soul to hit the neighborhood in that getup. He deserved a bag FULL of candy for that!

  2. that is hilarious! i took my two plus two of their friends around -- our neighborhood is quite mixed in age, so only about 1/3 of the houses had lights on for trick or treating. that said, it took less than an hour to get four HUGE bags of candy for the 4 girls!

  4. What a fun night you guys had! I would have been a little nervous if Michael Phelps came to my door too, especially in just a speedo in the cold! What a brave soul he is! :)
Connor looks so cute as Lightning, what a fun idea! And where are pictures of Miss Kaitlynn??
