Spring Picnic

Last week, The Foundry church (Connor and Kaitlynn's preschool/mother's day out) hosted their annual spring picnic for all the kids that attend school there. They had fun inflatables, Chick-fil-a meals, train rides, face painting, you-name-it! The weather was perfect and the kids had such a blast.

Last year when we attended, Kaitlynn was in her stroller most of the time and just took it all in. This year, she was free to run wild. And run wild she DID! Here she is enjoying one of the inflatables with Connor.

Kaitlynn's favorite part was the "choo-choo" train ride. Connor only stayed there long enough for a picture and then he ran back to the inflatables.

When it was time to eat, we grabbed our meals and had a little picnic on the grass. The kids LOVED it! Kaitlynn felt like such a big girl since she got to do everything Connor was doing.

After we ate, we noticed the Chick-fil-a cow was wandering the area. Connor ran over to give him a high-five, and Kaitlynn plopped down about 20 feet away. She LOVES the cow (she calls him a "mo") but she doesn't want to go near him, so she just sat there and watched from a distance. The expression on her face cracks me up!

As we waited in line for face painting, Connor and Kaitlynn were goofing off and giving each other lots of love.

The picnic was so much fun, and it's just one of the many reasons I am LOVING spring right now. We are staying up a lot later each night and just soaking in the nice weather and extra playtime. Gotta enjoy it while we can because the hot and humid summer nights will be here before we know it!

  1. Connor looks so grown up in those pictures. Time is just flying by waaaayyy too fast! So glad Kaitlynn got to enjoy in the festivities too. You are looking so good and nice and tan too.

Spring time is so great, isn't it?! Lots of fun activities and nice weather. Hopefully we have several more weeks of mild weather before heat of the summer starts up.

  2. Oh, that looks like such a fun outing!! Precious little family, Lauri! Precious. It is funny that both Connor and Kaitlynn love the Cow! Alex let Pop Pop and I know that the cow was NOT his favorite! LOL! (nor the Easter bunny from what I hear!) Hope you all have a wonderful Easter! blessings ~ tanna

  4. First let me just say that I absolutely adore how much Connor and Kaitlynn love each other. They are so sweet together. I sure hope Alex and his brother love each other that much.

Alex would have been in heaven with Kaitlynn on that train. I bet you wouldn't have been able to pry him off! He would have sat right there and enjoyed the Chick-fil-A, too. But most definitely not that cow. Oh no ma'am. Any mascot/costumed character is cause for a meltdown these days. Maybe he would have been more brave seeing Kaitlynn.

This looks like such a fun day for you guys. Glad you're out and about enjoying the spring weather! Miss you and love you!

  5. I totally agree with Amanda. The first thing I thought was how darn cute Connor and Kaitlynn are together. He is SO sweet with her. I love the bond they have, it totally shows through the pictures and I know as K gets older it will just continue to grow. So, so sweet!

I'm so glad you guys got to enjoy this fun spring time family event. This IS the best time of the year, don't you agree? And momma, you are lookin' good. Skinny and tan, what a combination! :)
