7th Grade Cheer

While I was away on my girls' trip, Kaitlynn was enjoying the official start to her experience as a junior high cheerleader. Jeff was on deck to capture a couple of photos at Kaitlynn's first pep rally, and boy did she ever look the part! She quickly learned that the pep rallies felt a bit intimidating to her - cheering so closely to her peers and feeling like all eyes were on her every move - but she performed well and did a great job of bringing the excitement to the school gym.

A few days later, it was GAME DAY for the 7th grade squad. It was a mad flurry of activities and checklists to ensure this girl was packed and ready for her first sideline cheer experience. While most cheerleaders relish the opportunity to dress up in their uniforms, Kaitlynn wasn't too excited about that part and in fact was something she dreaded the most about school cheer. But she made it through the long school day and was excited for her very first game later that night.

Showing up at Kaitlynn's future high school for her first game was super exciting. We had been here many times before but usually for Connor's football games. It was going to look a lot different being here for cheer as the main event. It was a beautiful night and Kaitlynn was most excited about seeing her friends and enjoying time with her fellow squad.

When it was showtime, the 7th grade squad gathered on the track and readied themselves to cheer and fire up the crowd. They had their megaphones, pompoms, high ponytails, and their classic cheerleader smiles. It was show time, and they all did great! There's nothing like being under those bright lights and watching your kid do their thing. So proud of Kaitlynn for taking on this new experience and excited to see where the world of school cheer leads her!
