Visiting Family in Dallas

Next stop in the Dallas area was a much-needed cousins visit at the home of Uncle Jeb and Aunt Alli. Connor and Kaitlynn love every second with their cousins Makenna, Madison, Marissa, and Preslee. We mostly hung around the house enjoying some relaxing and down time.

On the mornings during our visit, I woke up to quite the sight with a couch full of cousins. Limbs and blond hair everywhere, ha!

Of course, no visit to see Aunt Alli goes without nonstop fun with arts and crafts. My distaste for messes is well known in our family, so Aunt Alli always comes through in letting the kids experiment with art and baking so that they can make messes to their hearts content. The kids made us breakfast one morning and were quite proud of the result.

The favorite activity by far was an epic cake-baking and decorating contest. One of the cakes never made it to the judges tasting, as it ended up in a massive heap on the floor. I may or may not have experienced heart palpitations from the mess.

The judges were fair and impartial and enjoyed the perk of consuming cake for lunch, ha! All cousins ended up winning much deserved awards in various categories.

Before we knew it, it was time to head to the next stop on our summer tour. But not before we met up with the rest of the Morgan family for an awesome day of Top Golf fun. The entire family gathered together in Dallas at a local Top Golf facility in celebration of Uncle Paul's recent marriage to Elaine. We were so happy to meet Paul's new love and her family, and they hosted everyone with a yummy lunch and wedding reception along with hours of golfing fun. I only planned to stay a short time with the kids because we were planning to hit the road back to Katy, but we ended up having so much fun that we stayed beyond our allotted time at Top Golf. What an awesome way to celebrate Paul and Elaine's marriage while enjoying time with the entire family!

We finally hit the road and drove back to Julie's house in Katy in preparation for our next week of activities. The nonstop summer fun continues!
