2016 Thanksgiving with the Morgans

For the first time in a decade or more, the Courtright family stayed in Texas this year to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday with the Morgans. We had a great turnout and felt so blessed to be able to join my extended family at the home of my Aunt Tina and Uncle Mackey in the Dallas area. It was a beautiful day and much-needed family time with the group.

My bestie cousin, Robin, and I doing some pre-Thanksgiving shopping.

Cousins Preslee and Kaitlynn were too cute all dressed up for the holiday.

Aunt Robin fixed their hair and they were just too cute!

My sister Michelle and her awesome family. Love it when the whole gang is together!

I didn't manage to take any photos of our Thanksgiving meal, but let me just say, it was QUITE the spread! Veggies, snacks, meats, and desserts galore. We enjoyed the day at Aunt Tina's so much. Despite missing our Michigan family this year, we felt so blessed to be surrounded with our extended Morgan family and catching up with everyone. It was an extra special celebration of life, love, and God's abundant blessings.

After our day of Thanksgiving celebration, some of us decided to stick around in the Dallas area for more fun and family time. We headed to the Fort Worth area to enjoy some attractions and the surprisingly chilly fall weather. First up was the Fort Worth zoo.

Kaitlynn is OBSESSED with zebras. She was so excited to see one in person!

Feeding the birds was a fun stop at the zoo.

Next stop was the famous barbeque joint, Cooper's. Yum!

Next up was a visit to the Stockyards. This cousin love is a common sight with these two!

On our last day, we stopped by Uncle Jeb's fire station for a tour. So proud of him!

Our Aunt Tina is an amazing photographer and we never have to twist her arm too hard to get in a Morgan family photo session during our visit. She has a beautiful backyard and an incredible eye, so we set up some family photos before our Thanksgiving meal. These all turned out so great, so I snagged them from Facebook to post here.

With unexpected trials in our extended family on both sides, Thanksgiving took on a new meaning for us in 2016. We are humbled and grateful for so many blessings in this life, and we aim to cherish every moment that God continues to grant us with our loved ones.
