Golf Camp

I already posted this summer about Connor's growing love for golf thanks to his Grand Daddy! With his new set of clubs, Connor took a golf camp at Cinco Ranch Golf Club last month to continue his golf education and further his skills. He was SO excited! We ended up buying him a new golf bag (the backpack style) so that he could carry his clubs on his own, and he LOVES it.

During the golf camp, Connor learned more about the rules of the game, golf etiquette, and tips on his grip and swing. The golfers had various daily competitions, one of which was to hit a golf ball in a small bucket about 30-40 yards away. Every day, Connor tried to hit a ball into the bucket and would sometimes hit the bucket but not get the ball inside. But on the last day of his week-long camp, Connor came up to me excitedly with big news: he had made it into the bucket!! That was a big honor that not many of the kids had achieved. He was deservedly excited and won himself a new pack of Titleist golf balls.

During the camp, one of the golf coaches taught Connor a new grip and it has really been working great for him. Since then, he has made great progress in his golf game. After the camp was over, Grand Daddy drove down from White Oak to visit us for a couple of days and take Connor golfing to show off his new skills. I'm not sure who enjoyed the visit more, these golfers were happy happy happy!!

Grand Daddy and Connor before one of their golf outings.

Grand Daddy took a couple of pictures while on the golf course, and they were both happy to report that Connor set a new record on his distance hitting: 90 yards! Go Conman :-)

This picture shows a great view of the course and Connor's new grip.

On their last golf outing, even Jeff got into the fun and enjoyed a (HOT) day on the golf course.

Connor continues to say that he has trouble deciding which sport he prefers, golf or football. That's saying a LOT, knowing how obsessed he is with football. I think Grand Daddy has created a monster. A golf monster!

  1. I've been loving all the recent summer activity posts. So fun that you signed Connor up for a golf camp. I love it!! So cute that he took to the sport so easily. With a little help from Grandpa that is! I bet your dad is loving this! What a fun activity with his only grandson!! :-)

I was so excited to see he went to the Pine Cove base camp too. I've heard such great things about those camps. They have one here at a church that is less than 10 minutes from our house. I will definitely be signing Jacob up next summer. And hopefully Luke too. It sounds wonderful from your post and it looks like they had a great time. And so fun that he got to do it with his buddies.

I'm so excited to hear about the start of school for you guys this year. Starting at your new school and all. I went to a Kinder night of info tonight for Luke. Getting anxious and ready to get started, l think! Lol! One more week...

Been thinking about you guys a lot and hope you are enjoying these last few summer days! Miss you tons!!
