Halloween 2021

As usual, our calendar was full as we approached Halloween in the fall. And with Halloween falling on a Sunday, it wasn't as easy to plan for the usual trick-or-treating activities for the kids. But that didn't stop us from working in as much fun as possible.

For Kaitlynn, the fun began with the fall family event hosted by our National Charity League Azalea chapter at a local skating rink. The kids were invited to dress up and enjoy some time roller-skating, which Kaitlynn always loves. She looked the part and had a great time with some of her NCL friends. Afterwards, we made a quick trip up to Kaitlynn's gym to cheer on her Little Sister, Jacqueline, as they completed their final milestone for the upcoming competition season.

Later in the week, Kaitlynn's all star cheer squad hosted a super festive Halloween night where the girls were able to have their normal practice followed by a parking lot trunk-or-treat event. The girls really enjoyed the time with their Little Sisters on the younger Mini Ops team, and Kaitlynn loved hanging out and trick-or-treating with sweet Jacqueline during the night. They had a blast collecting candy and eating a pizza dinner outside with the entire group.

The fun didn't stop there. When Halloween finally arrived, Kaitlynn was excited to join her awesome neighborhood friends to trick-or-treat. The Moms are always super thankful for the Dads who are willing to join the girls on their neighborhood trek - they cover more ground and collect SO much candy! Love this group!! And can we just take a moment to realize that this is probably the 5th year in a row that Kaitlynn was a zebra for Halloween?! Variations of that costume have evolved over the years, but it cracks me up how that zebra phase will.not.die!

For his part, Connor enjoyed spending Halloween with his girlfriend Marie. They dressed up as Batman and Joker, thanks to the makeup skills on her part! Connor reported that they enjoyed a little bit of trick-or-treating but mostly just hung out with Marie's family and friends. I was thankful for the pictures posted by her Mom. Happy Halloween 2021!
