Winter Updates from Home

Our hectic work and activity schedules are keeping our family so busy that it feels we can hardly keep up most days. On the rare occasions we get to spend time at home, we try to soak in the family time together. Even more rare these days is when Connor and Kaitlynn manage to get along and enjoy one another's company. Any instance must be photographed for evidence.

Most photographs of Connor these days involve some type of strange hair situation. It feels like an act of God to get this kid to agree to go for a haircut. He acts like we're getting his limbs trimmed instead of his hair. Why?!

Sometimes his crazy hair can be a good thing, though. Especially when it helps him gain an edge on a little sibling rivalry. Could he best Collin for the title of 2nd tallest brother?! The tilt of the book says, not yet!

On the day that photo was taken, I was traveling for work (as usual these days). I asked Jeff to send of photo of the Courtright boys for me and this is what they sent. I love this so much!

Later that week, Jeff relived one of his childhood memories by toasting up some Jiffy Pop. The taste test revealed to the rest of us that popcorn has come a long way since those days. The microwave version is way easier and tastier, just saying!

I can never resist a beautiful sunrise or sunset. My kids probably get so tired of me pointing them out, and they never look as gorgeous in the photos. But that didn't stop me from sharing this one from our backyard.

Jeff prefers enjoying the backyard during the daytime, and usually with a beer in his hand. Except when it comes to the pool maintenance. The cold winter months make that chore pretty miserable.

And lastly, for anyone keeping track of my progress with Invisalign, here are some photos from the end of my first phase of aligners. This was 20 weeks in, right before moving to the next stage of refinements. Not bad for 20 weeks!
