Our 2020 Family Christmas

After enjoying time with the Morgan family for Christmas, it was finally time to come back home to Katy and celebrate our Courtright family Christmas with Collin and Kevin. The kids were excited at the prospect of enjoying their big gifts - the pool basketball goal and Kaitlynn's trampoline - but first, we knew there would be HOURS of time spent putting them all together. Jeff and the kids got started on the basketball hoop while we waited for the older boys to arrive, and Kaitlynn made sure she looked the part for our family festivities.

Before they made much progress on the installation, Collin and Kevin showed up and it was time for our family part of Christmas: GIFTS!! I managed to get some photos of the gang unwrapping their presents, but I guess I forgot to ask for any pics of myself. I promise I was there too!

One of Jeff's favorite gifts each year is the family calendar I make for him with photos from the prior year. In the past, this calendar would hang in Jeff's office and give him a smile in the middle of his work day as he slaved away for long hours at his desk away from his family. Although the calendar still gives him joy to look through, I'm happy he no longer has to be away from home to enjoy it. As he flipped through the pages for a quick preview, the kids looked on and enjoyed the photos. I have no recollection of what was so funny, but I snapped a photo of them laughing together and it has become one of my favorites in recent memory. This is what family time is all about!

Some of Connor's favorite gifts this year were themed around his all-time favorite TV show, The Office. He has watched each episode of every season at least 3-4 times, quoting Dwight and Michael's best and most infamous lines every step of the way. It's only fitting that his bedroom is now "The Office" and he can wear The Office-inspired attire supporting his favorite paper company, ha!

Of course, Connor and Kaitlynn's most favorite gifts were their basketball hoop for the pool and outdoor trampoline which both required significant work to install. Luckily, Collin and Kevin are both geniuses with that stuff and had the basketball goal and trampoline both put together in no time. I called them our "Christmas miracles" because we would have likely never gotten these projects completed without them!!

The kids were SO thankful when they could finally enjoy their Christmas presents. Kaitlynn immediately invited her neighborhood friends over to jump, and Connor dared the cold water temperature to break in his pool hoop. It was a quick dunk but a perfect ending to our Courtright Christmas celebration.
