For the past 3 years, our summer has been jump-started by a week of intense swim lessons with our favorite survival swim instructor, Ms. Glendy. She teaches lessons at our pool for 1 week, and both of our kids have become incredible swimmers from her instruction. Connor and Kaitlynn have both been swimming in our pool since March this year due to the warm winter we've had. Kaitlynn was swimming great, but not completely independent in the water like she was last summer. We told her about Ms. Glendy coming back to teach her this summer and she was understandably nervous. She cried the first 2 days, but then she faced her fears and did great in the water.
Kaitlynn floating on the 2nd day of swim lessons.
As she floated, she looked up at me and said "Cheese!" for the picture, ha!
She is swimming great, but her new thing this summer is treading water. She scares some of the other parents because she'll tread water for a long time and it looks like she is going to drown, but she's smiling and just hanging out while she gets her breath. She wants to do it HER way, of course. :-) Here are some videos of Kaitlynn's lessons with Ms. Glendy.
And, just for fun, here's the link to the video of Kaitlynn floating for the first time last summer with Ms. Glendy.
Yea for Kaitlynn. It still amazes me what she can teach such young kids. Can't wait to see it in action in Destin. Maybe she can give some pointers to my two!!
I am so impressed. I think it's fabulous that you have continually enrolled C and K in such wonderful lessons so that they are safe in the water. Can't wait to see a little in-person demo soon! Yay!!!
W.O.W!! Kaitlynn is doing so great!! Going to be great for the vacation coming up!! ;) blessings ~ tanna
