Encore Championship

A mere two weeks after Phantom's first competition, it was time to do it all over again. In mid-December, Kaitlynn's team competed in the Encore Championship held in downtown Houston. We were super thankful for a local event, which meant we had more flexibility over our weekend schedule. The formula for the weekend was the same: compete once on Saturday and return for the finals on Sunday. For this competition, Phantom was going up against several really amazing teams from across the state. The girls were ready for battle and excited to show off their performance in front of the home crowd.

At the end of the weekend, Phantom had a disappointing Day 1 performance followed by a zero-deduction routine on Day 2. They were hopeful for a decent showing in the standings, but at the awards, Phantom was super disappointed to take last place. It was a big blow to their confidence, especially after winning at their prior competition. The good news was that the coaches would now be able to make some adjustments to their routine based on their recent score sheets, thus hopefully making the team more competitive for the height of the season in February. Regardless of the outcome, we were SO proud of our girls for working so hard and giving it their all for Encore.
