Virtual NCA

During the week of the big winter storm, Kaitlynn was scheduled to compete with her Bombers cheer team in the biggest cheer competition of the season: NCA (National Cheerleaders Association). This is the event that they work towards each year because it represents the largest gathering of cheer teams with the toughest competition. Due to Covid, this year's event was unfortunately changed to a virtual format. The teams would now be recording their routines at their local gyms and submitting their performances via video, which definitely took a lot of the prestige and fun out of the event. To add to that disappointment, the winter storm changed up the timing of the competition and created a compressed window of time for the teams to practice and submit their videos.

Despite the many challenges, Kaitlynn was still excited to be able to compete with her team. The parents were able to watch their performances and cheer them on inside our home gym, and they also pulled together some great celebrations and gifts to commemorate the occasion. In the end, the girls did a fantastic job but fell short of the NCA title they were hoping for. They still had a blast with the virtual experience and there wasn't any time for disappointment, because the next competition was right around the corner. Go Bombers!
