First Day of Pre-K

Finally the long wait was over: Kaitlynn started Pre-K last week! The excitement was palpable in our home. She was READY!

First day of Pre-K!

My big girl ready for her first day.

For her first day, Kaitlynn was using her backpack from last year. Her new school requires that the kids use tote bags instead, and Kaitlynn's bag was supposed to be ready for her when we arrived at school. Finally, we made it to school and took one last picture before heading inside.

Inside the lobby, we spotted a desk of tote bags where Kaitlynn's was ready and waiting for her.

Kaitlynn's new tote bag for Pre-K, spelled correctly on the 2nd try, ha!

We quickly moved Kaitlynn's things from her backpack to her tote bag, and then she was ready to enter her classroom. The kids are asked to unpack various items from their bags and then have a seat to begin working on handwriting. Kaitlynn walked into her classroom and never looked back; I didn't even get a chance to say good-bye, ha!

When I went to pick up Kaitlynn at the end of the day, I was greeted with a HUGE smile. She had a great day! But to my surprise, I was also given a Ziploc bag full of 50 sight words. So apparently we have a LOT of work to get started on, ha!

This year, Kaitlynn's teachers will be working hard with the kids on handwriting, beginning reading and sight words, numbers 1-25, and so much more. And Kaitlynn will also be taking Spanish, Music, and Ballet twice a week. She is going to be one busy, happy school girl!

Her 2nd day pic, this time with her new tote bag.
