5th Grade Graduation

Connor's last year in elementary school seemed to fly by. 5th grade turned out to be such a monumental year for him and his fellow classmates. The growth and maturity of the kiddos was obvious as they navigated their final days of elementary and prepared for the independence and responsibility of middle school (known as junior high in Katy).

WoodCreek Elementary hosts the 5th grade graduation as a way to honor the students' hard work in their six years of elementary school. The kids walk across the stage, shake the hands of their teachers and several honored administrators, and listen to their family and friends cheer them on to the next chapter of their academic career.

I was so happy and proud to be a part of the celebration for Connor, but I admit that I got a little choked up to realize my BABY was moving on from elementary school. It didn't seem real that my chunky, chubby-cheeked, blue-eyed, happy hunk of a baby was headed to junior high with feet as big as his Dad's (size 10, yikes).

After the graduation ceremony, it was all smiles and excitement! Most of the 5th graders left school for the day to celebrate with their friends and family. I made Connor pose for some photos with his principal, Mr. Mosher, his 5th grade homeroom teacher, Ms. Giles, and his all-time favorite teacher, Ms. Vivier from 4th grade. Connor was gloating that he had officially surpassed her height after the past year!

After leaving school, Connor was so excited to join his buddy Parker and other WoodCreek students for an afternoon of fun. CiCi's Pizza and Altitude, what more could these 5th grade graduates ask for?!
