For the second half of our California getaway, Jeff and I drove towards the Oakland area for an extra special visit with Jeff's side of the family. Dave was celebrating his milestone 80th birthday, and Dave's family all came together to honor him for his big day. It seems crazy that Jeff and I have been married so long and yet this was the first time I was meeting Dave's sons and their families. Brian and Keri rented everyone a beautiful home in Oakland, and we were joined by Kevin and Amy from North Carolina, Kevin's son Zach and Brian's son Cameron and his girlfriend Amy. Jeff's brother Chris also flew in from Florida, so we had a full house of family ready to celebrate with Dave and Judy.
Brian and Keri were the ultimate hosts with a huge spread of food, and the gang enjoyed various games in the garage game room, some afternoon football, and of course, a variety of card games to close out the night. It was a short 3 days together, but I was so thankful to meet everyone and spend such quality time together in honor of Dave's 80th birthday. What a special weekend and the perfect way to close out our trip to California!
