Homecoming 2024

In late September, Homecoming was upon us - this time for both Connor as a senior and Kaitlynn as a freshman. I was so excited that they would have this one year to participate in Homecoming together. Connor reconnected with a friend from elementary school and asked Daniella to be his Homecoming date. Per tradition, we ordered a senior mum for her in the gold and white colors used for seniors. I remember entering high school and seeing all the gold and white mums, thinking that time was FAR away for us. And yet, here we are!

Daniella's mum was beautiful and she provided Connor with a coordinating garter. They are two super busy kiddos, but they met up the night before the Homecoming football game to exchange their mum and garter so that Connor could wear his to school on the Friday of the game. I loved seeing the sweet personalization of the Cheez-its on Connor's garter - she definitely knows him!

On the Friday of the Homecoming football game, Connor wore his garter to school like all the other kids. It never fails to amaze us at some of the mum creations spotted across the halls. These things get bigger and bigger year after year! Connor came home from school talking about the gargantuan mums and how crazy it all was.

Connor and Daniella were off to the game, and Jeff and I hung back to help with Kaitlynn and her friends. For Kaitlynn's first Homecoming, she invited a great friend from another school and they hung out in a group of 4 girls. Before the game, we took them to CiCi's Pizza - the perfect spot for a casual and fun pre-game dinner. They had a great time, and then we drove them to the game to watch our Katy Tigers and enjoy the festive Homecoming atmosphere.

While at the game, I wanted to make sure to get a picture of Connor and Daniella in their Homecoming garter and mum. It was fun to see Connor with his friends, and he and Daniella seemed to have a great time at the game. The entire time we visited with Connor and other friends at the game, I had this crazy surreal feeling - just so hard to believe this was Connor's senior year and last Homecoming ever!
