For the first half of the summer, Connor was able to join a recreational basketball league so that he could get some extra reps on the court. It was his very first time participating in AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) basketball and we were thankful to the coaches for allowing Connor to join one of their teams without having gone through the formal tryout process.
At 6'1", Connor was the tallest guy on the teams he played for. He has the perfect build for a strong basketball player, but he still lacks the confidence and experience that many of these ballers bring to the court. The summer AAU opportunity was just what he needed to give him much-needed reps on the court against tough competition. We noticed great improvement in his aggression, defense, and even his vertical jumps. Our hope was that this experience would carry over to his fall basketball with Katy High School. No matter what, we love watching our boy play and work so hard toward his goals!
