Riding in Daddy's truck...SO much more fun than the Mommy mobile.
Connor earned some money from chores and decided to spend it on a discounted S.W.A.T. team costume. He loves fighting all the "emergencies" around the house.
We've had some visitors recently. First, Meme and Granddaddy came for a couple of days. Kaitlynn LOVES her Granddaddy, so much so that he couldn't even go to the bathroom without her following him and waiting impatiently outside the door.
Kaitlynn also loved sharing Granddaddy's iced tea.
Another special visitor was Uncle Ben. The kids just love him.
And this past weekend, my cousin Robin and her family came for a visit. We went to the Schlitterbahn waterpark in Galveston (again). It is always SO fun (and exhausting)!
We have been spending a LOT of time in the sun. Here are the kids at Palm Beach in Galveston. (We are going there again today with friends! The fun never ends!)
Kaitlynn has been developing some VERY blonde hair from all our time in the sun. But if you look closely you can see the darker roots growing in. I think her days as a blonde-headed beauty are numbered. sniff sniff
We've also been hanging out at some fun play areas to avoid the summer heat. At one of our local hangouts, they have fun activities for the kids. In these pictures, Connor and Kaitlynn were making playdoh from scratch. There is NO WAY I would allow this mess in my house!
Playdates are another favorite way to pass the days lately.
Just like everywhere else in the South, it's been HOT and sunny down here. Gotta have those shades!
One thing is for sure...you guys have had one jam-packed, full-filled summer! I love all the activities you all have been doing, all the friends and family you've been seeing and all the time you've been spending at the pool and in the sun. I'm so glad you have been taking advantage of your summer with your sweet kiddos. Miss you guys!

ReplyDeleteYou guys have seriously done a lot! You are so brave to do so many fun outings with the kids. I know Connor will treasure all of these fun adventures before starting kindergarten.

TONS of summer fun is right! It looks like it's been non-stop at the Courtright House. Makes the weeks fly by, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteI am loving the SWAT get-up. Too, too cute! And how cool is the place where you can make your own play-doh?! I wish we had more kid-friendly places like that here. We've got very little for younger kids, it seems like. So glad that you've been enjoying the summer. Soak in these last few weeks before school begins and give hugs to the kiddos for me!
