It was hard to believe that my WAC friendships with Michelle and Julie had reached almost 20 years, and that our infants that brought us together were now freshmen in college. Where had all the years gone?? Michelle had turned the big 5-0 in August, so it was time for a proper girls' weekend in her honor! We made the drive to one of our favorite spots, San Antonio, for a weekend of shopping, relaxation, and catching up. It was so nice to finally have some extended time together!
It's funny how we always spending up the majority of our time at Nordstrom, traversing each floor and taking up residence in multiple dressing areas while we try every single item and designer for just the perfect fit. We are always on the hunt for that elusive pair of jeans or just the right bra, and there's no telling how many countless hours we have spent over the years together at this department store! And now, the cafe is one of our favorite spots to eat as well. So many memories at this place, ha!
We love the shops at La Cantera in San Antonio. For Michelle's birthday weekend, we spent many hours wandering around the outdoor mall, stopping for a bite to eat, and just soaking in all the time together catching up and wondering how we got here with kids in college.
We stayed at a lovely hotel in the area, and Julie had gone to great lengths for the perfect gift and charcuterie to enjoy with Michelle as we hung out and got ready for our next stops throughout the weekend. Beautiful!
I feel so blessed by these girls and the nearly 2 decades of friendship and motherhood we have navigated together. The ups and downs, the twists and turns... just so thankful to have shared life with these precious friends and looking forward to the continued journey ahead no matter where it takes us! Happy 50th, Michelle!
