Misc Summer Updates

Time for a collection of random photos from our summer with various updates and activities. Back during the super busy season of Connor's graduation, we were able to squeeze in some family time to celebrate Connor with a fancy meal at Taste of Texas, one of our family's favorite restaurants. It was the younger kids' first time and they were definitely impressed with that amazing salad bar. Love these special family moments when we can all be together!

On another occasion, Jeff and I took some time to join the kids for a family move one summer afternoon. We decided to watch the new Hunger Games prequel, but half our party only made it halfway through before they left the theater in protest and disgust of the harsh violence portrayed in the film. Oops, I guess I should've done some due diligence in checking out the reviews before attending. My bad!! *hangs head in shame*

Another big milestone of our summer was the fact that Kaitlynn had turned 15 and was now officially a permitted driver! With her learner's permit, she could drive with Sweet Daddy as her instructor, and she was quickly becoming a great and responsible driver behind the wheel. Thank goodness for Jeff's patience and nerves of steel... that is a role I just wouldn't be able to perform no matter how great of a driver she might be! The funny thing is that she was learning to drive in Jeff's massive Expedition, which is quite a large vehicle to drive. We kept telling her that every other car she would eventually drive would feel so smooth and easy compared to this massive tank!

Another big part of Kaitlynn's summer was the reveal for her new all star cheer team for the upcoming season of cheer. During our travels, she missed the team reveal but had her friends send her the gift box given to all of the athletes when team reveals were finally released. Kaitlynn was thrilled to be on a team called Spartans, junior level 3 coached by her dream team of Sheryl, Forrest, and Danny. She was so excited for the fun season ahead, and practices were fast and furious as they began to learn their new routine for the season.
