Spirit Celebration

As December rolled around, it was finally time for the new season of competition cheer to begin! As with all competitions, the girls are so excited to receive spirit gifts as a way for the parents and families to wish them luck on their weekend ahead. I worked with Jen and Kristi to gift the girls embroidered blankets and a little lip balm - such a cute gift and fun way to kick off the season ahead!

Our first competition each year is Spirit Celebration in Dallas, and Kaitlynn and I were upgraded to a nice room in the downtown area. Of course, the timing of the competition in early December coincides with the end of semester projects and finals, so Kaitlynn got busy with her homework as soon as we arrived.

When Day 1 of competition was upon us, Kaitlynn was so excited! She has her whole routine for cheer makeup and hair, and I can just sit back and relax while she manages it all herself. We loved the natural lighting from our hotel suite and snapped some cool pics before heading to the competition halls.

At the convention center, it was all smiles as Kaitlynn's fellow teammates and friends were full of nervous energy. It was a festive atmosphere and the Nighthawks were ready for their first performance!

Day 1 was a great performance by the Nighthawks! To celebrate, we went with several of our favorite families to enjoy our favorite pizza spot in downtown Dallas, Cane Rosso. This has become one of our Dallas competition traditions, and we love the families and food so much!

The next day, Kaitlynn and I wanted to get up and watch some of our favorite teams perform in the convention center arena. It's so exciting to see some of the big and popular teams with their new routines and uniforms! Afterwards, it was time for the Nighthawks to meet up for their Day 2 performance. They performed great and the parents were excited to cheer them on. This time, it wasn't a win for the Level 2 U16 Nighthawks, but we knew they would have a great season ahead.

After their performance, we always love to check out the professional photos taken during both days of the competition weekend. Here are some of the professional pics from Spirit Celebration.
