Kaitlynn has a love-hate relationship with her summer birthday. It's great because she can celebrate with fun summer activities like swimming and outdoor stuff, but it's also tough because it's hard to gather with friends who are traveling or busy with other summer activities. To celebrate her 14th birthday this year, we planned a late May celebration with a few friends at the house before her actual birthday in June. We made a homemade birthday cake, planned a spread full of her favorite snacks, and ordered a yummy meal of pizza while hanging out around the pool with her besties. Afterwards, we loaded up in the car and headed to Five and Below for the girls to buy some silly toys as gifts as their party favor. It was a low-key celebration with lots of laughs for our teenaged birthday girl!
