I'm not exactly sure how Kaitlynn's first haircut coincided with her 4th birthday. That was a LONG time coming! She has always had fine hair with some little curls on the ends (especially in high humidity) so I just never felt the need to get it cut. But with summer upon us and her hair more tangle-prone than ever, I figured it was finally time to take the leap for her very first haircut.
Kaitlynn and I had our first outing together in Katy as we located a new kids' haircut place. We went on a random Tuesday morning and we were the only ones there. The manager was so sweet and patient with Kaitlynn, and we cheered for her as she climbed into the fire engine chair and picked a Strawberry Shortcake movie to watch. Kaitlynn wasn't nervous at all -- she did great!
The end result? It looks exactly the same except for healthier, less tangly ends. Ha! The manager saved some of Kaitlynn's curls in a keepsake pouch for us, and she even gave Kaitlynn a sweet pink bow for her new haircut. Precious!
Here's a before and after. Hard to tell the difference, but definitely healthier.

I can't believe she was four before she had her first haircut! So hard for me to comprehend - Alex needed one at his first birthday and has gone every five weeks since. He'd be like Rapunzle (sp?) by now if we didn't stay on top of it! LOL! Sweet girl looks bee-utiful! =)
